Just like Daniëlle, Nicole and I met while working at De Bijenkorf in Den Haag. We worked right next to each other. Nicole in the Longchamp shop, and I worked in the Sunglass Hut shop. We would exchange friendly "Hallos" or "Goede morgens" but it wasn't until one day we, randomly, had lunch together and hit it off. Nicole is very quiet, me not so much haha! We, Nicole, Daniëlle and I, were pretty inseparable at work and we made sure that we made time for dinners and visits outside of work.
Living abroad can be challenging. You start from scratch. You leave the familiar and, most people, are thrown right out of their comfort zones. When I met Nicole I had only lived, in The Netherlands, for four months. I was struggling to catch my stride and figure out 'land life'. I was very frustrated, with myself, for not grasping onto Dutch quicker and Nicole was so understanding and patient. I appreciated it so much! Something else I appreciate, about Nicole, is her love for her family and friends. She is a wonderful friend, who would do anything to help you, listen and just be there. I am super close with my family too and can relate to her so much!
Nicole is born, and raised, in beautiful Den Haag. She loves her city and I do too! I loved getting to tour around, with her, to get to our final location in the wee hours of the morning. We chose to utilize Scheveningen Beach and it did not disappoint. I had some ideas, thank you Pinterest, and Nicole was so excited and so was I. I left my house at 6:00am and met Nicole in the city, grabbed a Starbucks and chased the morning sun. Nicole's session will be shared in three separate blog posts because there are way too many great images to share in one post! Nicole, thank you for being such a wonderful friend! I had a great time with you and can't wait to share the rest of your images. Enjoy!
I love the black and white images!
